Endpoint

GET /v1/reddit/trending

Parameters

sort_by

Sort order: hot, most_recent, top, rising, or controversial (default: hot)

posted_ago

Time window for sort_by=top or sort_by=controversial: 1h, 24h, 7d, 30d, 12m, or all (default: 24h). Rejected with any other sort_by.

feed

popular (r/popular: the most active posts in public, non-NSFW communities) or all (r/all: every community) (default: popular)

country

One country's r/popular, as on reddit.com: AR, AU, BG, CA, CL, CO, CZ, DE, ES, FI, FR, GB, GR, HR, HU, IE, IN, IS, IT, JP, MX, MY, NZ, PH, PL, PR, PT, RO, RS, SE, SG, TH, TR, TW or US (default: worldwide). Only with feed=popular.

pages

Number of pages to fetch, 1-20 (default: 1). Each page returns up to 25 posts.

get_sentiment

Set to true to add AI emotion analysis (+$0.001/page)

Frequently asked questions

Where do these posts come from?

Reddit's r/popular feed by default: the most active posts across all public, non-NSFW communities. feed=all switches to r/all, which takes in every community.

Can I get what's trending in one country?

Yes: country=GB (or any listed code) returns that country's r/popular, the same feed reddit.com shows there. Without it the feed is the worldwide one.

How deep does it go?

r/popular lists about 500 posts, so 20 pages of 25 is the deepest.

How does pricing work?

You only pay for successful requests. The Reddit Trending Posts API costs $0.003 per page. There are no monthly fees or commitments. You get 50 free requests per endpoint every month.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You can sign up and use the free tier (50 requests/endpoint/month) without adding a payment method. You only need to add a card when you want to exceed the free tier.

Are there rate limits?

Yes, there's a concurrency limit of 10 simultaneous requests per endpoint per user. If you need more, just get in touch.
